About
Board of Trustees
Susan Stevenson
Retired/Rewired Executive Director of All People’s School
"I am inspired to serve on the Board of Trustees for All Peoples School because I deeply believe in the power of Early Care in Education, APS and my deep love for the work with teachers, children and parents.
After almost 40 years working in ECE I have seen first hand the lasting impact that our school has had on our teachers, children and parents. It has been a long time dream of mine to take APS in this direction. The school has forever wanted to have more fundraising, grants and donation matches, and by becoming a board member for APS and with our transition to be a nonprofit, we will have the chance to meet these goals. I am so thrilled to be able to serve the school in this way, to ensure long term sustainability and support the future of APS's growth.
My hope for the first term of the APS Board is that we establish a strong foundation built on trust, shared purpose and thoughtful governance. As someone who has spent over half of my life leading the school, I look forward to supporting the transition to a nonprofit model while learning my role as a board member. My hope is to work collaboratively to preserve the heart and mission of APS and ensure its long term sustainability and create a framework that will allow the school to thrive. "

Becky Luoh
Alum parent at All People’s School @Pixar Children’s School
"I am inspired to be on the Board of All People’s School because I believe wholeheartedly in the values and work of All People's School and this community has shaped me and my family in countless ways.
I spent 8 years in mission driven nonprofit work with college students, then got a business degree at an art school with a focus in human centered design and strategy. Laura Valdez
Alum parent at All People’s School @Aquatic Park School
"Laura was born and grew up in El Paso, Texas on the U.S./Mexico border. Her social justice framework is rooted in the struggles she witnessed growing up as a daughter of Mexican immigrants and queer Xicana.
Laura brings over 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit administration, public health, public policy, and grassroots organizing. As a human rights activist, she has led several social justice organizations including organizations working for immigrant and LGBTQ rights. As a National Urban Fellow, she earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Bernard M. Baruch College, School of Public Affairs in New York City and is a LeaderSpring Fellow alumni.
Laura believes that long-term social change in this country requires sustained commitment and leadership from those most closely impacted by pervasive inequity and injustice. She has served as the Executive Director of Mission Action for the last eight and half years. During her tenure she has grown the organization from a budget of $7.1M to a budget of $28.7M with close to 200 employees and over 20 programs."
