Aquatic Park School officially became All People’s School in 2022. This name carries the history of how the school evolved and how it continues to evolve.
The school on Heinz Avenue opened in 1992. In 2018 we added the Pixar Child Development Center to the family, just five blocks down the road. The name All People’s School celebrates the expansion of our work and the connection between the two sites.
After surviving the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent social uprisings, staffing upheaval, the continuing social crisis facing early childcare — it was time for us to develop a visual brand mark grounded in our most enduring commitments.
Susan (then director, now retired), Anne (current executive director), and Lauren (atelierista) met with designers Becky and Bernee to decide which shapes, letterforms, and colors would best represent our school on screen and paper.

The new logotype was written by a child at All People’s School. (She is currently in second grade, and her handwriting looks really different now!) It celebrates the unique perspective of our children in the community, represents beauty in imperfection, and reminds us that we are constantly growing and learning.

Each sister school has her own name and logo, but retains similarity in visual identity to emphasize the commitments to one another as one All People’s School community.
The center mark was inspired by real children at play, forming a letter A against an organically shaped circle. It expresses our beliefs in the importance of human connection, relationships, and the power of play in learning. It is also a visual mark that communicates familiarity and invites recognition for those in our community who cannot yet read!

We drew our palette from the environment in and around the APS campuses. We selected strong, bold hues that occur in nature and evoke a sense of grounding and vigor.
